Children with Prosthetic Limbs Support Programme

We support children in Turkey who’ve lost limbs as a result of the war. Due to their injuries, there are extra costs their families face from special drug prescriptions to increased travel costs to school and the clinics they have to visit regularly.

Abdalhalem was 7 years old and playing with his friends when a missile struck them, killing his father and badly injuring him. He lost part of one leg above the knee and part of the other below the knee meaning he needs extra special care. He is now looked after by his uncle who said of the SRRF ‘they supported us when we needed it most’.

Reyyan was severely injured in a bomb blast when she was 5 years old, losing half of one leg and badly damaging the other. Relatively speaking she is one of the lucky children who’ve managed to escape Syria and receive the healthcare she needs.
